We built Guify to be simple and honest. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. No legalese.

Information we collect
Account information
When you sign up, we collect your email address, name, and password (hashed). If you subscribe to a paid plan, we collect billing information through our payment processor (Polar). We never store raw card numbers.
Site configuration data
We store the configuration you create for your OS-style websites - content, theme settings, and customizations - so we can build and serve your site.
Usage data
We collect basic usage data such as pages visited, features used, build logs, and error reports to improve the product. This data is not sold to third parties.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
How we use your information
To provide the service
Your account data and site configuration are used solely to operate Guify - building, hosting, and serving your sites.
To communicate with you
We use your email to send account-related notifications (builds, billing, security alerts). You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time.
To improve the product
Aggregated, anonymised usage data helps us understand how people use Guify and where to focus development.
Data sharing
We do not sell your data
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
Service providers
We share limited data with trusted service providers who help us operate - including AWS (hosting/CDN), Polar (payments), and email infrastructure providers. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
Legal requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Guify, its users, or the public.
Data retention
Active accounts
We retain your account and site data for as long as your account is active.
Account deletion
Account deletion is not available directly through the Guify interface. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email us at hello@guify.site with the subject line 'Account Deletion Request' from your registered email address. We will process your request and permanently delete your personal data and site configurations within 30 days of confirmation. Anonymised usage data may be retained for analytics.
Your rights
Access and portability
You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time by emailing us.
Correction and deletion
You can update your account information from your dashboard. Account deletion is not available via the interface - to request deletion of your account and all associated data, email us at hello@guify.site. We will process your request within 30 days.
GDPR and CCPA
If you are in the EU or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Security
How we protect your data
All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. We use AWS infrastructure with standard security practices including access controls, encryption at rest, and monitoring.
Breach notification
In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you via email within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.
Children's privacy
Age requirement
Guify is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately.
Changes to this policy
Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of Guify after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
